Kayfabe is a term used for over a century in wrestling circles. It is a pig latin derivation of the words "be fake". In wrestling it is a term used to describe the
act of keeping the "fix" (wrestling is fake) secret and the act of disguising the
means of production of that secret. I am interested in forms of mass spectacle
in my work, and in the in-between moment where the performer and the viewer suspend their own belief in the real/fake dichotomy.
